CNC Maker Assistant ("the app") is a workshop tool for hobby CNC users. This page explains what data the app collects, why, and who it's shared with. The app does not require an account, and does not collect your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information.

Data the app collects

• A random device identifier. On first launch, the app generates a random identifier and stores it only on your device. It is sent to our server to enforce free-tier daily usage limits and, if you subscribe, to record your subscription status. It is not derived from your Apple ID, advertising identifier, or any other Apple- or Google-assigned identifier, and cannot be used to identify you personally.
• Content you submit to AI features. When you use the chat, ask for an explanation of a G-code import, or ask for a feed/speed explanation, the relevant text (your message, or a deterministic summary of findings from your file) is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. Search queries used by the in-app knowledge base may be sent to Voyage AI to power that search. This content is processed to generate your response and is not used by us to build a profile of you.
• Usage and diagnostic data. The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand feature usage (for example, which tabs are used) and to receive crash reports so we can fix bugs. This data is associated with an analytics identifier managed by Firebase, not with your name or contact details.
• Purchase and subscription status. If you subscribe to CNC Maker Assistant Pro, Apple processes your payment directly — this app and its developer never see your payment card details. We verify your subscription's active/expired status with Apple's App Store Server API and associate that status with the random device identifier above, so your entitlement can be checked without a login.

Data the app does not collect

• No camera, photo library, or location access. The app does not use any of these, regardless of what system permissions may be present in the underlying operating system's permission list.
• No account, no email address, no name, no contact list.
• No advertising identifiers, and no data is used for third-party advertising.

Who we share data with

We use the following service providers to operate the app. Each processes data only as needed to provide their respective service:

• Anthropic (Claude API) — processes chat messages and AI-explanation requests to generate responses.
• Voyage AI — processes in-app knowledge-base search queries to generate the embeddings used for search.
• Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics) — processes usage events and crash reports.
• Apple (App Store & App Store Server API) — processes payments and reports subscription status.
• Cloudflare (Workers) — hosts the server component that relays requests to the providers above; it does not independently retain your data beyond what's needed to process and forward each request.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

Data retention

The device identifier and any locally stored data (your machine profile, tool library, settings, and imported G-code files) live on your device and are removed when you delete the app. Server-side, we retain only what's needed to enforce daily usage limits (reset every 24 hours) and your subscription status (kept for as long as your subscription is active, plus a short grace period to detect renewals).

Children's privacy

CNC Maker Assistant is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change. Since the app has no account system, we cannot notify you directly — please check this page periodically.
